Q&A with Aaron Digby, Paid Media Executive

Q&A with Aaron Digby, Paid Media Executive

Aaron joined the paid team back in March 2021 and has been getting stuck in since day one. We sat down with him for a quick Q&A to find out about his experience and what makes him tick.

Yes Aaron, how’s it going? Can you tell us how you got into digital marketing?

I started by doing an Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing, this was mainly in Organic Social, but the data analysis part of it was what I found most interesting, which led me to pursue a career within Paid Media as it involves the use of budgets and finding ways to optimise campaigns through exploration of data.

Sounds like you’re into the data analysis side of things then. What aspect do you enjoy most about your job?

The dynamic pace of Google, always chopping and changing their best practices. I enjoy keeping up-to-date with what works best for campaigns and constantly working to improve CPAs and scaling our accounts with clients.

Managing to keep on top of all the constant updates then. What’s your favourite campaign or client you’ve worked on?

I work with a lot of Automotive clients, of which I’m proud to say I’ve been able to refine and improve each of their CPA’s (cost per acquisition) whilst also increasing leads and conversions through different structural changes and strategies.

Best achievement in your career so far?

To be honest, getting myself into the career and job I’m in is probably my biggest achievement haha! Just two years ago I graduated from University and had 0 direction or idea of what career I wanted to pursue but I’ve finally made it!

Do you have any advice for anyone looking to get into a similar role?

I know a lot of people my age who are into digital marketing and want to pursue a career within it but don’t know exactly what they want to go into, so my best advice firstly would be to figure out exactly what part of digital marketing inspires you.

Whether it’s creative writing for SEO, or analysing data for paid media because this will help you mould your cv and help you find the right courses to kickstart your career.

What does your ideal weekend look like?

Early morning gym or tennis, depending on if I’m not hanging from the Friday night before, followed by a trip down the Kenny to watch the Luton Town boys play (and win), before getting home and heading out into the big smoke to spend way too much money on some overpriced beers or cocktails.

The best of both worlds – early morning exercise, late-night partying 😅 Any interesting hobbies?

Cooking – I do love to make different healthy meals at home. Whether it’s homemade Nandos-style chicken or Greek gyros wraps, I love finding out new recipes to make.

Cheers for taking the time out of your busy schedule, Aaron!
