March Google Algorithm Update & Chrome Additions

Written by Admin | Mar 14, 2019 11:09:39 AM

As members of the SEO community, we anticipate the potential effects algorithmic changes on our online visibility. Google this month has been making changes both to the Google algorithm and Chrome. Today we would like to share with you what has happened this week. Also, make sure to check out what these changes may have on your local SEO here.

Google Algorithm update

Yesterday Google Tweeted out that they have released a broad algorithm update. Google echoed their previous statements last year in saying to continue making great content, and that if your rankings were affected by the update, there is nothing you can do to “fix” it.

Some SEO experts initially were speculating that there had been an algorithm update in which Google later confirmed. It’s unclear what exactly the update has done, but various SEO experts once again are sharing their thoughts.

It may be too early to tell what this algorithm update has done, but we will keep our eyes peeled for any updates on this news.

Chrome Updates

Google Chrome now has dark mode on Mac. Google has said it is coming to other operating systems soon.

Duck Duck Go has reported that Google has quietly added Duck Duck Go as a search engine option within the settings.

Google Tests Ad Colour Change

Google is currently testing something on the SERPs. Something that’s likely to please those in SEO but upset those in PPC. Google is testing black ad labels as opposed to the green ad label. This gives a distinctive difference to organic results and paid ad results. This, in theory, could reduce click-through rates on ads but increase click-through on organic results.
