Blue Monday is definitely the most depressing day of the year, from distant memories of the festive period and freezing temperatures to dry January and failed new year’s resolutions. So, this year iThinkMedia created a campaign for CEWE Photoworld to break the January blues with an inspirational, animated travel piece entitled, ‘The Top 10 Most Instagrammed Places’.
Bridging photography and travel, this integrated marketing campaign has SEO at its core. Understanding that travel based searches peak during January, this CEWE Photoworld campaign was created to inspire 2017 travel plans, ignite the inner explorer within each and every one of us and drive awareness and traffic to the photo book page within the UK market.
Once the top 10 landmarks had been identified and ordered via the number of Instagram hashtags they had received, an animated infographic was created.
Take off and enjoy the journey as you investigate the top landmarks to visit from the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal, through to the Acropolis.
Click on the tips to find the best places to photograph the landmark or simply let the photographs do the talking and flick through the gallery to check out the best of the Instagrammers’ photos.
It’s easy to see why these are some of the top 10 landmarks in the world – they are simply stunning and completely unique in their own right.
Seeding this piece out to a wide array of top travel, lifestyle and parent influencers enabled the campaign to reach new audiences, previously untapped by CEWE Photoworld. Influencers in the industry found the content easily relatable, offering further tips and tricks to taking photos in those specific landmarks that they had previously visited.
Travel blogger Becky of Global Grasshopper says:
‘Having visited all of the above it’s no surprise these sites are the Seven Wonders of the Social World, they’re equally stunning and all look great in photos. CEWE’s interactive hub is a great way to explore the world from your screen and dust away those Blue Monday feelings. It has beautiful pictures from each location, taken by some of the world’s top travel Instagrammers and gives some brilliant advice on getting the best photo at each destination.’
iThinkMedia worked closely with Alfred, a London-based PR agency to distribute the campaign wider afield to both national and online press on Blue Monday. This has resulted in a great deal of success with the likes of the Mail Online covering the campaign.
Over recent years we’ve seen the travel industry boom on social channels, but Instagram has definitely led the pack, as it is more visual in nature. Today we see over 195 million mentions of hashtags such as #travel, #travelling and #travelgram, showing that in today’s world people want to show off their images, document their adventures and treasure their photo memories. CEWE Photoworld now allows you to download your photos easily from Instagram to create a photo book that you can keep and saviour your pictures and memories for a lifetime to come.
Whether travelling alone, as a couple, family or with small children – CEWE Photoworld have got the travel photography advice for everyone.
