Q&A with Megan-Rae Grove, Paid Media Account Manager

We spoke with Megan, our latest PPC recruit. Megan joins us as a Paid Media Account Manager with six years of agency experience.

So, how did you get into Paid Search?

I initially started as a content writer mainly writing travel content for places I had never been to. I was hired straight out of university for a small agency in Kent. When they had lots of paid search accounts coming in they decided to train me up, and that was 6 years ago.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I like marketing in general and find it interesting and rewarding when you can make successful campaigns for clients. And I love solving puzzles through data to get the best results!

Favourite campaign or client you’ve worked on?

With any west end show, the challenge was always “will the demand be there? Will the marketing hit the right audiences?”

But it was fun and something different every day.

What’s the best achievement in your career so far?

Producing campaigns that led to sold-out shows and being nominated for the European search awards for my work on Nimax Theatres.

Why did you want to work for Honchō?

The ethos was something I’d noticed for a few years and the content on LinkedIn. I wanted to work for an agency willing to experiment with new ideas.

Do you have any advice for anyone looking to get into a similar role?

Perseverance and interest. Get excited about all elements of marketing, it all interlinks and it’s always changing and developing. Write blogs.

What does your ideal weekend look like?

I like to have busy weekends! Gym, Food and seeing friends and family.

I’m currently training to be a PT but I’m all about balance so it can be a pub, restaurant, or the gym. I like to bake, read, explore, visit galleries and exhibitions.
